Business process management is the ability to define, implement, manage, analyze, and optimize interactions between:

Business process management ensures that the right information gets to the right place at the right time. It is a process optimization method and incorporates the techniques, prearranged methods, and means to rationalize operations and increase efficiency. BPM techniques and methods assist in recognizing and altering existing processes to align them with a preferred or enhanced state.

The goal of BPM is to reduce human error and miscommunication and focus stakeholders on the requirements of their roles.
Business process management has a proper structure, its life cycle, which is followed by every organization. The life cycle includes following steps, designing, modeling, execution, monitoring, and optimizing.

Design - Process design incorporates both the identification of existing processes and the design of future processes. Reliable design reduces the number of issues over the lifetime of the process.

Modeling - Modeling takes the theoretical design and captures the business processes at a high level. Then it concentrates on ensuring the high level details are correct without being distracted by the detail of how it’s going to be implemented.

Execution - Instances of the process are launched and interacted with by the end users.

Monitoring - The processes’ performance is measured and compared against the standard SLAs graphical dashboards and textual reports to monitor how the process is performing and this data is then used to understand the presence of any bottlenecks or inefficiencies that may occur.

Optimizing - Improves the business process and performance by reducing the bottlenecks and inefficiencies identified during monitoring. It also determines which changes will deliver the maximum benefit.

These steps when performed in an efficient manner help in achieving the organizational goals.
